The specialism

Air blown fibre.

Fibre installed by the flow of compressed air — carried gently along a polyethylene microduct, several hundred metres at a time, with no tension on the fibre at any point.

How it works

Air does the carrying.

The air and fibre are fed into a small chamber — the blowing head — and along the microduct. There is no plug on the fibre’s leading end being pushed by pressure; instead, air moves past the fibre at high speed, providing a gentle, stress-free drive at every point along the run. The fibre needs no tensile reinforcement, and it arrives at the far end having felt nothing at all.

Install the microduct once, then add fibre only when it’s needed — a fibre-lean network that upgrades precisely in line with demand.
